I am probably the biggest fan of this animé that you will ever see on the internet. That being said, I did not allow my own personal
preferences to get in the way of my dutiful judgement of this animé. This show has one of the most original and creative stories ever developed, and one can truly sympathize and develop a sense
of *pathos* (10 cent word to remember) for the characters. From its visuals to its plot intricacies, the story grasps you and holds you until the very end.

The first time I saw this animé I literally locked myself in my room for eleven hours straight with nothing but popcorn, coko, and a DVD player. I was planning on watching one episode, but the engrossing plot
was far more appealing than anything else I had going on in my life at the time. The story starts with a mysterious melody that somehow binds two estranged assassins together. I have always loved Noir style movies,
but this animé was truly well executed. When it comes to character development though, wow. The discovery of Kirika and Mireille's past and the roles they play with the Soldat organization leaves so much room for discovery
of the characters and the changing of motives that it is almost frightening. Although, like many other fans of this animé, I was distraught at how many times they repeated the same flashback, there were many
other character dynamics in the animé. There is just so much that I can say for these two categories that I will just suffice to say that there is a reason Noir scored 9.5 in character development.

Animation and music (especially music) are two of the top reasons to watch noir. I purchased both Noir OST's after watching the show, a testament in itself
to the music quailty. Although I didn't enjoy the overabundance of French Music, a play of its title Noir, I do believe that this is a soundtrack worth purchasing. The reason, however, that this animé recieves an 8 for
music is simple: I got really sick of hearing that dumb vocal every 10 seconds. The CD's had so much unused content that the series itself dissapoints me in its utilization thereof. And now we

come to animation. All the video was very clear, but, in an animé of this magnitude, there was one point deeply vexing me. There is no bloot, at all, anywhere (except when Kirika gets shot). Chloe is stabbed in the heart
and she doesn't bleed. Yet, in the category of animation my own personal preferences dont really apply, so, other than that, the animation was beautiful. Shadows, guns, bodies, backgrounds, landscapes, everything was
well done.
It is hard to take premise into consideration without referring to plot and character development. The characters' slow discovery of the past and the influence and history of the Soldat organization is
all the premise you get, and all the premise you need. There was no possible way to make background information any better. That being said, this animé overall is one of the best pieces of work that I have seen in my time
as an Otaku. Buy this one. Please.
-Endnote - I truly apologize to Animé Academy for using all three of their pictures. I just do not have the time to make screenshots myself.
