You know what, screw the score. This was the first animé that I ever saw in its enirety and so I loved it. Still, looking back, I can
now see just how utterly bad this show truly was. Its very depressing but despite all the hype and reviews and glory this show recieved - it was not good, at all. It was cool, lots of robots blowing
the shit out of eachother is always cool, but there was no substance to go with the action.
I don't know how they made the plot last for 49

episodes. If you cut out all the dumb dialogues and repeated animations and pointless flying, I think a good 10 OAV's would have sufficed. But the show did last for 49 episodes and that just makes
it bad and drawn out like DBZ. However the story was intriguing. If it wasn't for all the crappy psychology and unneeded pacificm, I would probably be praising the story. Unfortunately, though, the
biggest problem with the plot is not dialogue. The problem is that every time they ran out of content they just had another faction take over the world and that was, plainly put, annoying. Character
development is a similar story, but the inverse. The creators never had to add any substance to the characters - each one was exactly the same troubled youth. The only difference between them is that
each one had a certain character flaw to overcome, and it took the whole series (in terms of gaining life experiance) for them to be able to overcome it.
Animation was good if you like waiting
through 10 episodes of crap and repeated cells for something original. Yet, when something new did come alone, it was animated exceptionally, perhaps this show's only saving grace. In terms of music,
there is one good aspect to it: Gundam Wing songs make damn good midi ringers for your cell-phone. Other than that, it was abhorrent. In fact, each song was just a variation off of Two Mix's Just
Communication.
And now we come to Premise. There are 3 reasons that the premise in Gundam Wing was so (relatively) high 1) I love giant robots killing eachother, 2) The background information
is presented in a very realistic manner, and 3) You get a sense for the characters, their interactions, and their pasts through the series. In conclusion, if you want to numb your mind to obvious pitfalls
and just watch ass-kicking robots, this show is for you (I can numb my mind to anything as long as there are big robots).
