First, to begin, I must truly apologize for the summary given above. It is currently 3 A.M. and I don't have the energy (save caffine pills and red bull) to come up with anything funnier or more creative. That being stated, I say that it is time to continue with the actual animé review.

Berserk is truly an original idea, both in its daring storyline its vibrant animations, and its overall air and appeal. From it's original story to its wonderful animation, Berserk is a feast for sore eyes. If
"If only I had that sword from FF7..."
you have enjoyed previous fantasy animations or not, this is one that is worth watching.

For many fans of this animé I realize that it's worst aspect is the ending, or the lack thereof. I admit this and have removed two points from plot soley for this reason. Other than this scratch, the plot is flawless, with forces and alliances being revealed carefully and methodically. No point in the animé leaves you uninterested, as you are constantly drawn into the charachter and external conflicts presented.

There could be more to be asked from the music, but it usually fits with the scene presented. Animation wise, every episode attempts to present something new. Other than the occasional still frame (something that really got on my nerves when they did it every 5 seconds) there is plenty of eye candy to go around.

Unfortunately, very little background information is provided, leaving many questions of the past unanswered at the conclusion. On a side note, after watching this animé in its entirety, be sure to watch episode #1 after you have finished the animé for the conclusion to make slightly more sense.

As I stated earlier I am ranting from exhastion and so before I make more of a fool of myself in my review I will conclude with this: if you enjoy fantasy sword-play style anime like Escaflowne or the sort, you will enjoy this. You will either love it or hate it, it's that simple.
